Viewing options trades in Rangefinder
If you have access to a service that includes options trades, you can access it by opening the menu and selecting the service from the sidebar. You may also click the service from the homepage.
Options Trade Component (list display)
The components from the options list display are below. See Detail Pages for other aspects of options trades.
1 - Strategy
The strategy of the options trade. Its background color will be green for bullish strategies, red for bearish strategies, and yellow for neutral strategies.
2 - Status
Whether the status is pending, active, or closed. If it is pending, then the options trade buy price has not yet been hit. Active trades have reached the buy price but are within the range of the profit and risk strategies. Closed trades have usually hit either their target or risk strategy targets, or have expired without having reached the contract buy price.
3 - Days to Expiration
How long the options trade idea is valid for.
4 - Label
Often communicates the strategy or sentiment, along with the underlying ticker.
5 - Thesis
Details about the options trade.
6 - Commentary link
If the service provides additional commentary, the link will be present and take the user to the commentary page.
7 - Options Price
The current options price, with a badge noting the difference between the current price and the previous day's closing price.
8 - Buy Up To
The Buy Up To price (if present) is the upper range of the contract price you could buy in order to potentially gain reasonable profit from the options trade.
9 - Alert
The toggle button to turn alerts of trade activity for the options trade on and off, per your notification preferences.
10 - Dates
The original date of the options trade, and the timestamp of the current prices on the display.
11 - Underlying
The underlying symbol for the options contract.
12 - Live Chart
The live chart for the underlying symbol.
13 - IV Percentile
The Relative Implied Volatility score for the symbol (if one exists).
14 - Profit Strategy
Outlines the circumstances in which to take profit. It may be a min/max strategy, target symbol price, etc.
15 - Risk Strategy
Outlines the circumstances in which to exit the trade to prevent major loss.
16 - Trade Activity
Tracks when options trades open and close, along with adjustments to profit and risk strategies or to the options contract.
